It's not an art
to grow old;
it's an art
to give it
an appropriate place .
Residents
The Kurt Defrancq House will be a unique place, for unique people. People who never retire and want to keep creating. Older artists and performers (of all income levels) will find in the Huis the best of both worlds: they can continue to create autonomously, just as they did in the past, but at the same time benefit from services and care if required.
Who is welcome?
The Kurt Defrancq House applies a number of admission criteria. For example, residents must be able to prove that they were active in one of the following professional categories:
Artists: creative and performing
Art-related professions (museum director, curator, cultural journalist, etc.)
Art-related academics and professors (e.g. art historian)
A committee - consisting of internal people (members of the NPO) and external advisors from the art world - will assess all applications in an objective manner and communicate transparently afterwards.
"To create is to live twice."
